Now Hiring Tutors for Fall Semester

Candidates need to be good writers, and be able to communicate about writing. Students who want to apply need to have completed Writing 2010 with excellent grades, and be interested in helping other students become better writers.

If you are interested, please send the following to Maureen Clark maureenrclark@gmail.com by April 30:

• Current Resume or CV
• Academic writing sample (we prefer research papers)
• One letter of recommendation from a professor
• Transcript (can be unofficial)
• Must have taken and passed Writing 2010

Candidates should be aware that they are required to complete Writing 4020 fall semester as one of the requirements of being a writing center tutor.

New Policy for Required Visits

Instructors who wish to require their students to come to the Writing Center will be able to do so. Rather than filling out a form, the tutor will stamp the student's paper with the official Writing Center stamp. For privacy reasons we are unable to divulge the details of the session, but we can verify that a student has had a consultation. We hope this helps instructors who want to require writing center visits for their students. Thank you for your support of the Writing Center!
